Intentions and Impact

As I wrote last month, getting clear on our intentions is a powerful tool in helping to navigate conflict. Another tool is separating impact from intentions. We tend to judge ourselves by our intentions while we judge others by the impact they are having on us. If we could learn to be more consistent in our thinking and own the impact of our actions regardless of our intents, we would be much more effective in working through conflict.
