COMMON MISTAKES OF FACILITATORS

1. Feeling responsible for the group solving its problems.

2. Pushing your solutions. Becoming a content contributor and ignoring process.

3. Becoming defensive.

4. Not checking decisions that you think the group is making with the group.

5. Failure to correctly define the problem.

6. Not taking enough time to plan.

7. Not getting to know the history and background of the group.

8. Giving advice.

9. Jumping to conclusions.

10. Either ignoring or becoming too up tight about time

11. Not doing flip charts and other work ahead of time.
