Parent-Youth Mediation

Sometimes the people you love the most are the hardest to get along with.

Parent-youth mediation is a process for resolving conflict between parents and youth in a voluntary, non-adversarial setting. In parent-youth mediation a trained mediator works with families to help them resolve specific issues, while teaching valuable communication, and problem-solving skills. This service is free and confidential to all residents of Cheshire County. Call 603-357-9673 to schedule an appointment.

  • Parent-Youth mediation is a way of resolving disputes in which a neutral mediator helps you negotiate with the other party.

  • A mediator is trained to find points of agreement, explore ways of overcoming points of disagreement, and write up the settlement that your family comes up with to resolve the dispute.

  • A mediator will not create a solution for your family. You do that, with the mediator's help.

"Parenting teenagers today is a constant challenge.  Parent/youth mediation is a viable option for keeping lines of communication open.  I would recommend that families use it even before a crisis hits."  Cathy Blanchard, Marlborough, NH

"Mediation helped us out very much. Mediators did a great job."
Cory Welch (father)
